Arpeggios have always been a part of hard rock and heavy metal but in the eighties they exploded in popularity mainly due to Yngwie Malmsteen. All of a sudden, kids were learning Arpeggios and practicing sweep picking with the same intensity that they had practiced tapping when Eddie Van-Halen first came on the scene. Neither Yngwie or Eddie invented these techniques but they did popularize them with their inventive and intense guitar solos. This Neo-Classical guitar lick uses simple chord triads as the basis for these arpeggios. Only three chords are represented here, E Minor, D Major and C Major and the scale used is E natural minor. Notes: use a metronome when practicing this lick. This will help you to cordinate the right and left hand movement
