There's so much going on around this time of year. But the biggest question you should be asking yourself is how do the holidays effect you as a musician? More specifically, how can you use the Christmas Season to sell more albums, book more shows, or get more fans?
Knowing that the holiday season is a time when people WANT to buy, make a holiday plan to describe exactly how you will build your fanbase, increase awareness, and even sell more than you ever imagined. Your fans are your family, so it makes sense to spend this time giving to to them and also providing them with even more ways to connect with you. What are some ways you can connect with your listeners, not just to sell them stuff or try to get them to come to another gig, but to really show that you appreciate them? What would your fans think of a Christmas song, cd design, e-card, or gift that featured them or at least had a personalized message to them?
In addition to finding ways to show appreciation to your fans during the holidays, know that people are wanting to buy for their best-friend's boyfriend's sister and anyone else on their list for that matter. Knowing that people are wanting to buy, three items are fundamental to have:
1) unique stuff to sell
2) ways to connect with them
3) and ways to stay connected with them
Discmakers.com also put out two holiday guides that might help you with some ideas.
