This is a video I did not want to make.
But after several requests from my viewers, I guess I can’t avoid it anymore, can I?
See, musicians have been using the harmonic minor scale for more than 250 years now…
… so it’s quite hard to find something new to say about it.
Then again, this scale spans several styles. You can find it not only in classical music, but also in metal and flamenco, and in the occasional jazz standard.
So rather than making a video on ‘new’ things about the harmonic minor, I started making a video on "getting started with the harmonic minor".
I tested some of it on some (willing) student… and I found out that what I had to say was pretty useful to them.
